About the author.
Hey! I’m SO glad you’re here! My name is Alyssa, and my beloved Lukas made me his wife this past May. If you want to learn alongside me what it means to glorify God through your role as a wife and homemaker (especially while working full-time), then you’ve come to the right place!
When I was a little girl, all I wanted to do when I grew up was to have a cozy home and be a wife and mother. I told my mom that I would have a hundred children – no, not all at once! I was very matter-of-fact; I would adopt them in batches of ten and raise each to be ten years old before I adopted the next batch (I had very high hopes about my agility in old age apparently).
Somewhere along the way in my late teen years, or perhaps at the beginning of college, independence, feminism, and my desire for a career took hold, and I began to eschew the old longings for home and family. So I told my mom that I would very likely never get married, and if I had children, it would be that I adopted a few later in life. She smiled a very knowing smile, and I only now understand why.
It is because now my greatest desire is to glorify Christ and be the woman that I believe the Lord designed me to be – a wife, mother, and homemaker (among other things).
I am far from perfect, but that is partly why I have undertaken the task to write this blog. Perhaps here, others like me may find community as we seek to honor God in our homes and families. Come, follow along, share life with me!
